Fevers can be scary, but they are often part of how the body fights infection.

Signs a child may have a fever:
• Warm to the touch
• Flushed or sweaty
• Fussy or uncomfortable

What helps:
• Offer plenty of fluids.
• Use acetaminophen or ibuprofen if recommended by your doctor.
• Dress your child in lightweight clothing.
• Let them rest and eat as they feel able.
• Never use rubbing alcohol, cold baths, or aspirin.

Important to know:
• Call the doctor’s office right away for babies under 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher.
• Keep kids home from school or childcare until they are fever free for 24 hours.

If you are unsure what to do, call our office. We are here to help. bit.pulse.ly/9lmy6wweum
