Does your little one insist on wearing the same outfit over and over? Experts say children find comfort in predictable patterns, and allowing them to express themselves through clothing is perfectly fine—as long as it’s not causing harm.

However, clothing choices can also become an early power struggle between parents and children. You might notice behaviors such as:

👕 Frequent clothing battles that end in tears or frustration
🎩 Rigidity or resistance when asked to wear something different
👗 A prolonged attachment to a specific outfit beyond typical phases
👚 Strong opposition to any change in routine
👖 Crying, screaming, or physical outbursts over clothing choices

While it’s important to encourage self-expression, it’s equally essential to teach that some occasions call for different attire—like understanding that Spiderman pajamas aren’t suitable for a formal event.
