Picky Eating (or could it be more?)
Most parents assume that feeding will be a simple and natural aspect of raising a child. Picky eating typically shows up in the toddler years, between ages 2 and 6. Often, parents believe that picky eating is normal at this stage of development. But when and how is the right time to help a picky eater? If you are a parent that has a child refusing food, doesn’t want to eat, eats a very limited and selected variety of foods, then take your place at the table as we discuss:
· picky eating vs. extreme picky eating,
· when/who/how to help the picky eater,
· the unique relationship between caregivers and eaters during feeding
· the underlying anxieties and challenging issues facing an extreme picky eater.
The lecture will be given by Meghan Quan, M.S., CCC-SLP. Meghan is a NJ licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologist specializing in infant, child and adolescent feeding difficulties. She is founder/owner of Hope & Wellness Feeding Therapy, LLC.
